D’Aaron McCraney (Central State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Clint Forbes (Benedict) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
Justin Yates (Fort Valley State) was also tabbed Setter of the Week.
OFFENSIVE – D’Aaron McCraney, Freshman, Middle Hitter, Central State
Central State freshman D’Aaron McCraney led the Marauders to a 2-1 record over the weekend including two SIAC wins over Benedict and Edward Waters. In a 3-0 win over BC, McCraney finished with 9 kills and a .467 hitting percentage along with two blocks. McCraney finished with a season-high 13 kills, a .360 hitting percentage, and four blocks in a four-set win over Edward Waters on Saturday. In a loss to MIVA member Purdue Fort Wayne, McCraney led CSU with five kills, a .400 hitting percentage and two blocks.
DEFENSIVE – Clint Forbes, Freshman, Libero, Benedict
Forbes averaged 10.2 digs per match as Tigers went 2-3 on the week, including a 3-0 conference win over Kentucky State. The freshman libero had a season-high 15 digs in 3-1 win over Maryville (Mo.). He also had a season-high 7 assists in a loss to Central State.
SETTER – Justin Yates, Freshman, Setter, Fort Valley State
In a match against Emmanuel, Justin Yates posted a season-high 41 assists to go along with two kills, four assisted blocks and four digs.
